High heat is the usual go-to, but it’s also the easiest way to scorch a good meal. You can stand guard over the stove, but you don’t have to. Around here we say “burn & learn” but we’d rather you skip the burning and just enjoy the learning. Your meal was prepped with care—follow the heating steps for the best flavour.
.Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
.In a medium to large frying pan add 1 oz of your preferred cooking oil (olive, canola, avocado). Heat on medium heat.
.Remove all contents from your kit. Cut open each package.
.Once your oil is hot, add your veggies and cook for 4-6 minutes, stirring frequently.
.Add protein, cooking for 3-4 minutes more. For vegetarian, place falafel on a parchment
lined baking sheet. Bake in oven for 8 minutes.
.To the pan, add 1 oz of water per portion. Deglaze, scraping any crisp bits off the pan.
.Continue cooking until desired doneness, then turn heat down to low to avoid splatter when adding the sauce.
.Add sauce (included in your kit is a spice blend - add all or some to make it spicier) then turn back to medium heat and bring sauce to a full simmer, for at least 1 minute, or until the sauce reduces to your desired consistency.
.Microwave your rice in a microwave-safe serving dish until hot, 2-3 minutes.
.Naan bread can be heated in the oven for 3-5 minutes (until desired crispness).
.Carefully pour the contents of your frying pan over the rice, or plate separately.
.Bon Appétit!
